After the meeting of the members of Taksim Solidarity with the Prime Minister Erdogan, Oya Ersoy, the Chairwoman of the People’s Houses had invited everybody to Taksim Square and made a statement:
The AKP government first tried to suppress the resistance of people who have filled the squares and streets as of May 31st and who only asked him to keep his hands off our lives and living spaces by using riot control vehicles, tear gas bombs, police terror, cencorship and various manipulations but failed. Then they have tried the divide the people by announcing that there were “extremists” among the environmentalist youth and that they should be very careful. When all these attempts have failed, , the AKP government had taken a step back.
Tayyip Erdogan was forced to have a meeting with the members of Taksim Solidarity that he disregarded previously. The committee had conveyed the demands of people who have been resisting for the last 17 days in the squares and streets of every city in Turkey one more time to the PM in person.
Undoubtedly the outcomes of this meeting will be assessed by the people who have been filling the squares for the last 17 days with anti-AKP and anti-Tayyip Erdogan “political” demands. Therefore we are inviting our people to Taksim Gezi Park tomorrow to show that we will closely follow our demands. At 7 PM tomorrow, we will also commemorate our friends who had lost their lives during the resistance.
