Working as a computer technician in the State Hospital in the province of Mersin, Ömer Faruk Arsoy too was fired
Computer technician Ömer Faruk Arsoy was fired from his job by the decree of the president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Using the same decree, the president had fired any and all opposition voices in the academia, schools and any other government offices.
Working as a computer technician in the State Hospital in the province of Mersin, Ömer Faruk Arsoy too was fired. Arsoy suffered from melanoma, which intensified after his firing due to emotional and economic stress. He lost his life three months ago.
Either unaware of his death or to stage a show of respect for law, the government decided to give Arsoy his job back, three months after his death.
Tweeting on the issue, a representative of the HDP (the Democratic Party of the People), a major radical opposition to the current government, Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, said to the government, “You have persecuted him, you have declared him a terrorist, you fired him, and he died in his young age because of all these. And now you return him back to his job? Don’t you have any conscience at all?”
