Our 38 friends with whom we’ve been working with shoulder to shoulder, house by house, street by street, for the ‘Campaign for NO’ for the last 45 days were taking to custody on 19th of April at Vatan security station. The reason for custody was announced as ‘not accepting the legitimacy of ‘YES’’. Yet, what’s not legitimate is the unlawful decision by the YSK and shady results of the referendum.
These unlawful custodies against ‘NO’ are political attacks and an attempt to suppress the strong ‘NO’ of our people despite all kinds of oppression, smirch campaigns and, blackmail. These are attempts to force down, defame, marginalize, and outlaw the legitimate force of NO that came out from the polls.
Our message to whom ordered the operation against NO is this:
‘NO’ is not just a word but is a reality.
NO; is the strong voice of those who believe in democracy, human rights, separation of powers, and of those who oppose granting one person with all executive powers without supervision.
NO represents more than Half of Turkey and thus, is the common stand of the millions.
Police operations, baseless allegation , threats, oppression, attacks, unlawfulness and cheating, can’t shut ‘NO’s voice down. We are protecting our ‘NO’.
These attacks on ‘NO’ should end and our friends in custody should be released as soon as possible.
