In Malatya, using the pretext of the new “Democracy Holiday” declared by the government, mobs of jihadists, Muslims and the ruling party AKP supporters started to attack the Alevite minority. Residents have spent the entire night on watch to defend themselves from further government supported terrorist attacks.

Last Friday, July 15th 2016, saw a very strange coup attempt in Turkey.  Violating the very basic rules of staging a coup, which Turkey has seen its share in the past, few army members tried a show to take over the government.  However, everybody was able to see the outright stupidity of the way things were acted out, including a total lack of timing, staffing and allowing nearly every government media channel to operate except for themselves!

Many in Turkey, as well as the world, could see the play, the “fake” coup, that was being staged to give Erdogan a boost in his broken and impossible to repair prestige.  Erdogan needed a cheap victory, and he got one.  Even his plane flying to Istanbul was apprehended by two F-16 military planes, however, as reported, Erdogan didn’t even seem worried of being shot down.  He smiled when he saw the fighter jets and the F-16s only escorted him to Istanbul from his vacation!

After the staged coup show was over and Erdogan won his cheap victory, Erdogan declared a “Democracy” National Holiday and called his people to take it to the streets for celebrations.

It is noteworthy that those who heeded the call to celebrate the democracy holiday were jihadists, sharia supporters, terrorist organization IBDA-C members, and militia who had been to Syria to get trained in killing and terrorist actions.

Once the mobs gathered, their attacks on peaceful citizens started.

Chanting “Allah is great,” the mobs started harassing the Alevite minority in Malatya.  Sunni Muslim sect, which considers other Muslim sect Alevites as enemies is the dominant and official Muslim sect in Turkey.

Driving their vehicles in the Alevite neighborhoods, the AKP supporters, who have the support of the police organization, harassed the residents, swore at them on their own streets and tried provoking them into a confrontation.  In the evening, the assaults rose.  However the residents organized a push back and threw the AKP jihadists out.  This led to police attacking the area Alevites and firing into the air to threaten and intimidate the people.  Then the police barricaded the neighborhood by closing all streets in and out of the area.

People in the region and their representative in the social democrat CHP party called the security forces in Malatya to do their jobs.  This call to action said the Governor of Malatya would be held personally responsible for any attacks on the Alevites.
