Silvan town in Turkish Kurdistan, in the province of Diyarbakir, has been under curfew for the last 7 days. During the curfew the Turkish state escalated its attacks against its Kurdish citizens. Attacking all neighborhoods of Silvan with full police force and “special forces,” Erdogan’s government targeted a civilian café last night. Spraying the café with machine gun fire the police and the special forces seriously wounded a 45 year old as well as two other people 44 and 50 years old.
Wounded civilians were immediately taken to the hospital where Gazi Yasargil later died.
In the Mescit neighborhood of Silvan, an explosion wounded many “special forces” elements. Exact number of the wounded was not confirmed. However, seeking revenge for the attack, huge numbers of additional police and special forces were sent to Diyarbakir who have been blockading the neighborhoods, a typical tactic Turkish forces demonstrate before a heavy and usually fatal attack to residential parts in Kurdistan. Reports of unusual numbers of ambulances being sent to the neighborhood were also received.
Turkish state started sending tanks to the city of Silvan. While the police and special forces try to penetrate the neighborhoods defending themselves from the invasion, an armored construction vehicle was destroyed by the people as it tried to enter their streets. To prevent the fatal police invasions people dig trenches. Police in return bring armored construction vehicles to close the trenches and attack homes. After the destruction of the police vehicle, Turkish military canons stationed across the town in the hills began artillery fire against the neighborhood.
