Clashes between the Turkish armed forces and the people in Eastern Turkey are escalating each day. Government’s decision to create a bloody chaos is bringing the country to a civil war.
In Semdinli, an Eastern town with a high Kurdish population, clashes escalated with the government forces using heavy artillery to punish the Kurds, its own citizens. DIHA news agency is reporting that many homes have been hit. Armored trucks are driving through the streets of Semdinli and ordering the residents to abandon their homes. Otherwise, the threat comes from the armed forces, “We will not be responsible for what may happen!” Telephone system in this town in Hakkari province was shut down for a long time.
The clashes have now spread to the town center as battles in neighborhoods intensified. People of the region are accusing the Turkish army of starting forest fires as it did in the 1990’s. Unexplained forest fires have been raging since the Turkish governments assaults have started, mostly in the areas the government suspects the Kurdish guerillas may be hiding. In Semdinli the forest fires started with the military assault on the town. Cobra helicopters are participating in the government’s attacks, bombing the town and the area surrounding it.
State Hospital in Semdinli has been evacuated of all medical personnel who have bene forcefully taken away to an unknown place. The entire hospital has been placed under military control and occupation.
Another news agency, ANF, reported that Semdinli Associate Mayor Seferi Yilmaz said the town and its surrounding is under heavy artillery assault from the army. He said the military constantly orders the civilians to evacuate the town and added, “People are under the threat of a massacre. We must do everything we can to prevent the massacre of the people.”
Army is shelling the village of Altun where already two houses have been hit. This village with a population of 5 thousand is without electricity and all cell phone connectivity has been severed with some spotty coverage resuming during the day.
Curfew is effective downtown. All government offices are closed, the hospital is evacuated of all workers, the highways closed.
MedNuce TV reported that the police was amassing outside the village of Cizre and sharp shooters were placed on top of the government buildings.
During the government’s attack against its own people many people have been injured. However, since the hospital is closed the injured cannot be taken to the hospital and are left without any care.
